This is the first time that Premium has introduced an unisex product. The brand launched in 1993 is targeted at families. The past few months have seen a virtual flood of perfumes from the international fragrance houses in the super premium category, says N N Mehta, executive director, J K Helene Curtis.

Apart from fragrances, the Premium stable has soaps, shaving products and eau de toilette. Another JK brand is Park Avenue. With Premium, JK wants to penetrate the Rs 100 crore market for fragrances in India. Eighty per cent of this category is dominated by the small scale sector in the Rs 50-60 price band. The account is handled by Everest.
