Q. Indo-Asian started about forty years back. How would you describe these forty years of its existence?
From a small enterprise which started its manufacturing activities in 1958 in the electrical field, Indo - Asian has grown into a multi product multi million group of companies with the prime objective of providing good quality products to Indian market. We were able to provide, high quality products, at a very affordable prices to our customers through innovative designs and production technology, which helped us in reaching the position that we enjoy today.
We then concentrated on widening the reach of our products and services, and today we have one of the widest marketing network in India. Gradually we made addition to our product range and today we offer one of the widest range of products. Quality of our products is well accepted and a variety of our products are ASTA, U.K. tested and our manufacturing plants have been awarded ISO 9001 certification. In-fact ours was the first Indian manufacturer of electrical safety equipment to be awarded ISO 9001 certification under the upgraded 1994 guidelines.
Q. Could you please give us some detail about your new product, the Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFLs)?
These unique energy saving CFLs, manufactured at the state-of-the-art Korean plant in Noida, give the same brightness of normal light with 80% less energy consumption. In other words, a 10 watt CFL gives the same light as the 60 watt conventional electric bulb thereby saving 80% of electric energy and power used for electric lighting purpose.
The CFL plant has the production capacity of 7.5 billion CFLs per year. To make this unique lamp available throughout the length and breadth of the country, through our nation-wide network of marketing offices and distribution centres, we are establishing mass retail network of over 5000 electrical dealers all over the country.
Anticipating that the CFLs will be required in larger volumes and at a very competitive price, we have already prepared the blue prints for substantial expansion programme of the plant so that the second and third lines are also installed.
Q. Who all are your business partners?
We have tied-up with leading international players in different fields for various projects. We have tied-up with, Heinrich Kopp AG, Germany for producing Indo-Kopp MCBs and Stopshock RCCBs are produced in collaboration with Doepke & Co., AG, Germany. We are also producing industrial plugs (Indo Mennekes Industrial Plugs & Sockets) in collaboration with Mennekes Elektrotechnik GmbH &Co. Indo Asian Technoelectric switches are produced in collaboration with Technoelectric, s.r.i., Italy.
We are also marketing Klockner Moeller Indo Asian Contractors & Relays exclusively all over India through the extensive network of our distributors.
