As part of its plans to offer a complete portfolio of global network services aimed at BPO/ITES and MNCs operating out of India, British Telecom will add 6,000 people in India by 2008.

Announcing this in Chennai on Friday, Andy Green, chief executive officer, BT Global Services, said that BT would expand to Chennai, Hyderabad and Kolkata next year. BT presently has offices in New Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore.

He said that BT currently accounts for 2 per cent of India's IT and BPO exports and is planning to source more over the years.

BT has over 150 customers in India and is expecting revenues of 250 million pounds by 2009.
