Canon launches new series of colour office printers

Canon today launched a new series of office colour printers, the imageRUNNDER ADVANCE C350i, and the imageRUNNDER ADVANCE C3300 series.

Equipped with hard disks that can store mails and messages and an advanced box collaboration feature that can save, preview, rename, or print files stored within the same network, in higher-end versions of these printers, in addition to having cloud storage options, these printers can perform tasks like mobile printing and scanning in a more eco-friendly way than before. This, the company claims, they did by providing features like eco-stapling which allows users to bind a maximum of five sheets together without staples, minimising power consumption by using less heat and entering power-saver mode, and by using reusable plastic and bioplastic.

Aiming to diversify the functionality of the office printer, these printers supposedly produce more "vibrant" results in V^2 Colour, and can be used to print on heavier paper, be it for visiting cards or posters.These machines are also supposed to be quieter, developed keeping "tranquility" of the workplace in mind, according to a Canon spokesperson at the event.

While their main target audience remain corporates, Canon also aims to try and capture the copy-shop market and increase market share to 30 per cent.
