Addressing a press conference, Vinod Dham, co-founder and managing director, NewPath Ventures, a VC fund that has invested $100 million in four start-up hi-tech companies, announced his intentions of launching a $250 million fund next year.

"We will invest in about 20 companies, of which six will be start-up companies and the rest can be in various stages of growth, with revenues of $1 million to $20 million. The companies can be in the domains of telecom, data mining, analytics," he said.

Having met with over 17 companies on his trip here, he talked about the changing mindset of entreprenuers.

"Companies here require mentoring as well as funding to reach the next level. Earlier, companies were apprehensive to give away control, but are more open to it now " he said.
