Smart Guard Systems to set up facility in A'bad for IP surveillance products

Smart Guard Systems, a 100 per cent subsidiary of Ahmedabad-based eInfochips Ltd, launched its Internet Protocol (IP)-based surveillance products in Gujarat. The company, which claims to be the first Indian company to design and manufacture IP surveillance products, is setting up a facility to manufacture IP cameras, digital video recorders (DVRs) and encoders in a phased manner.

The company will roll out a complete range of advanced intelligent surveillance products in India in the near future. "We are the first Indian company to design and manufacture IP surveillance products. We are in the process of setting up a facility in Ahmedabad and have invested Rs 10 crore so far. Currently, the plant produces 2000 units per year and we are expecting a revenue of Rs 10 crore this year. A first for the Indian market, the IP surveillance systems provide anytime, anywhere monitoring including from handheld devices. These are coupled with intelligent video solutions and offer automatic alerts and enable real time responses," Gurudas Parwani, CEO, Smart Guard Systems, said on the sidelines of the launch of the company's operations in Ahmedabad.

The security products manufacturere had deployed a few network cameras from its range of Network Fixed Dome Surveillance cameras and a few Box type Surveillance Camera at Kankaria Carnival held in December 2009 in order to strengthen security and surveillance to avoid any troublesome incident during the festival.

As part of the launch, the company introduced the Smart Surveillance Solution, an innovative plug-n-play IP surveillance product for home and H.264 HD/Megapixel IP cameras with embedded video analytics for its institutional customers. "By 2013, the IP surveillance is expected to overtake analog systems in India. Smart Guard will harness cutting edge technologies to deliver innovative prodcuts and solutions to its customers," Pratul Shroff, CEO, eInforchips and Chairman of the Board of Smart Guard Systems said.

The company currently has 75 channel partners in 30 cities.
