Establishments, including hotels, in the Aerocity area around the IGI airport here have been instructed by the DDMA to prepare disaster-management plans to handle emergency situations, officials said on Wednesday. The Delhi Police has directed all commercial establishments, including hotels and petrol pumps, in the Aerocity area to install "a sufficient number" of CCTV cameras covering a 50-metre radius in front of their premises, with mandatory storage of footage for at least 90 days. According to an order issued by ACP Vir Krishan Pal Singh (sub-division, Palam, IGI, airport), anyone contravening the order will be liable to be punished in accordance with the provisions of Section 223(a), which refers to disobedience of an order by a public servant, of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The order, which comes ahead of Independence Day, will remain in force till September 2, officials said. In a push to enhance tourism and drive economic growth, the Delhi government on Wednesday granted approval for 24-hour operations of restaurants in Aerocity, a prominent hospitality zone near the IGI Airport. Already home to some 4-star and higher-rated hotels operating around the clock, Aerocity will now see its restaurants follow suit, offering greater access to diverse dining options, an official statement said. It said Chief Minister Atishi approved the proposal aimed at attracting more tourists and increasing government revenue through enhanced licensing fees. Traffic diversions will be in place at two locations near Delhi Aerocity due to ongoing construction works, according to Delhi airport operator DIAL. Delhi Aerocity is in the vicinity of the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) in the national capital. The diversions are being implemented after consultations with Delhi Traffic Police, DIAL said in a statement on Tuesday. "These diversions are essential due to the ongoing construction work of the Aerocity Flyover and the widening of the stormwater drain. "The first diversion, located at the Northern Access Road near Pullman Hotel/Andaz Hotel Turn, has already been implemented, while the second diversion is scheduled to take effect on June 1, 2023, just after the Traffic signal of Aerocity Metro towards Central Spine Road," it said. The company has opened its first co-working centre, which is spread over 30,000 sq ft and comprises over 100 desks, at its hotel 'Roseate House' in Aerocity here. The price per desk starts from Rs 60,000 per month. The centre 'Upstage Club' was inaugurated by Amitabh Kant, CEO of Niti Aayog, the company said in a statement.
