Expressing concern over the financial health of the Congress government in Telangana, Jayadev Galla, Chairman of Amara Raja Energy & Mobility on Saturday said if it does not honour the commitments made by the previous BRS regime, then they may have to look elsewhere for its plant's capacity expansion. Galla's comments came at a time when Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and his team are touring the US trying to hardsell Telangana as an investment destination. Earlier in the day, Amara Raja Group held a groundbreaking ceremony for their Customer Qualification Plant for cell manufacturing and also inaugurated Phase 1 of the battery pack plant of 1.5 GWh in Mahabubnagar district. Amara Raja Advanced Cell Technologies Pvt Ltd on Monday said it has signed a licensing agreement with GIB EnergyX Slovakia s.r.o., for lithium-ion cells technology. As part of the agreement, GIB EnergyX, a subsidiary of Gotion High-Tech Co Ltd, will license Gotion's 'LFP technology' for lithium-ion cells to Amara Raja Advanced Cell Technologies (ARACT), a wholly-owned arm of Amara Raja Energy & Mobility Ltd (ARE&M), the company said in a statement. "This comprehensive agreement enables Amara Raja to manufacture world-class LFP cells in both cylindrical and prismatic form factors," it added. The scope of licensing provides access to cell technology IP, support in establishing gigafactory facilities conforming to the latest generation process technologies, integration with Gotion's global supply chain network for critical battery materials, and customer technical support for solution deployment, the statement said. Amara Raja Infra Pvt Ltd on Friday said it has secured a 700 MWp solar project from Greenko in Andhra Pradesh. With the latest win, the order book of Amara Raja Infra Private Limited (ARIPL) stands at Rs 1,516 crore at the end of FY24, the company said in a statement. "ARIPL has achieved a significant milestone in the renewable energy sector by securing a solar BoS project of 500 MW/700MWp from Greenko," it said. The project spans across an area of 2,200 acre site near Uyyalavada Town in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh. The work includes Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) of the entire balance of system (BoS) for the 700 MWp (Megawatt peak) project, which is part of Greenko's Integrated Renewable Energy Project.
