Chandrakant Patil is the minister in Maharashtra government and SENIOR Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader. He will contest from Kothrud assembly assembly seat. This seat is viewed as a stronghold for the BJP, although they faced challenges in the 2019 assembly election.The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) candidate secured the second-highest votes, coming close to Patil. In the Kothrud constituency, which is considered a power centre of Pune, Brahmins make up a sizable population. The Congress and Nationalist Congress Party have never achieved success here.
