The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) may start its tethered hot air balloon rides from November 14, officials said on Wednesday. The rides were launched last November from Baanseera park in Sarai Kale Khan area. "We plan to start the rides from November 14 for the public, the weather is ideal for the launch of the rides and it will be in the same format like last year," a private organiser said. Ticket prices are likely to be less than last year to attract more customers, he added. The organisers set the ticket price at around Rs 2,300 per person last time. DDA, last year, finalised the Yamuna Sports Complex, the Commonwealth Games sports complexes, and Asita and Baansera, two sites along the Yamuna Bank, for balloon rides. Expansion plans, beyond Baanseera, are on hold. A trip normally lasts between 7 and 12 minutes, with four people in the balloon.

In move that will provide relief to home buyers, the Delhi Development Authority has decided to remove separate parking charges from the total flat price in its housing schemes, officials said on Wednesday. According to a recent order, the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has directed that the total cost of parking construction shall be included in the overall project expenditure. "No separate or additional cost on account of car garage, scooter garage and covered or uncovered parking shall be included in the total cost of the flat," the order states. The total cost of constructing parking spaces will now be included in the total expenditure incurred for the housing pockets to calculate the Plinth Area Rate (PAR) of flats, the order added. The project is expected to generate approximately Rs 10,000 crore over a 55-year period. In a move aimed at revitalising Delhi's commercial real estate sector, the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has approved sweeping reforms to make the city more attractive for investment and large-scale development, a statement said on Friday. In a DDA meeting chaired by Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena, the agency has drastically reduced amalgamation charges for commercial properties, from the existing 10 per cent of the circle rate to just 1 percent. "High amalgamation costs were among the biggest deterrents for developers in Delhi. This decision is expected to trigger a new wave of commercial development in the capital," DDA's statement said. The move is exploiting underutilised commercial plots, making them financially viable for developers to consolidate land and undertake large-scale projects, the statement added.
