Dell Technologies on Wednesday announced the appointment of Anurag Arora as senior director and general manager, consumer sales for India market. Arora will drive business growth, sales and strategy for the consumer segment across the India market, the company said in a release. He brings 28 years of experience with brands across sales, product management, channel distribution, large format retail, e-commerce and brand websites. Arora joined Dell Technologies in July 2020, and has since played a key role in shaping strategies for the India consumer business, including Dell.com and retail channels, the release added. Dell Technologies on Friday announced the appointment of Manish Gupta as president and managing director for India, effective immediately. Gupta will lead the company's growth initiatives and drive sales in India, a company statement said. He will report to Peter Marrs, president, Asia Pacific Japan & Greater China (APJC), Dell Technologies. Gupta takes over from Alok Ohrie, who is leaving the company to concentrate on personal pursuits, the company said. Gupta brings in over 25 years of experience in the IT industry, including over ten years in leadership positions at Dell Technologies. Before his current role, he headed global alliances, channel partnerships, and strategic planning for the APJC region. He has also held the position of vice president of the Infrastructure Solutions Group in India. IT major Wipro on Tuesday said it has expanded its partnership with Dell Technologies to integrate their AI enterprise solutions and provide enterprises best-in-class technology and the latest in chip designs. The collaboration will allow enhanced cost control and risk mitigation while providing enterprises with access to the best-in-class technology, accelerating the adoption of AI across cloud, data centre and edge environments, a regulatory filing said. In a bid to further strengthen its presence in Karnataka, Texas-based technology conglomerate Dell is considering a fresh investment in its research and development (R&D) centre in Bengaluru, according to the office of Karnataka Large and Medium Industries & Infrastructure Minister M B Patil. The company already operates a prominent research and development centre in Bengaluru. At the global level, Dell operates around 25 manufacturing facilities with 14 of these facilities dedicated to R&D. On Friday, senior officials from Dell held meetings with Patil at Austin in the USA and sought support from the Karnataka government to overcome import restrictions on Special Economic Zone (SEZ) operations, which would enhance cost sustainability for Dell's expansion in India, his office said in a statement here.
