Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge on Wednesday expressed disagreement with Larsen & Toubro Chairman S N Subrahmanyan's suggestion of a 90-hour work week and recalled that former prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru and BR Ambedkar had advocated that workers should not be made to work for more than eight hours in a day. The Railways Strategic Business Group of L&T Construction has secured a significant order Contract to construct the Jakarta Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Project (Phase 2A) (Contract Package CP205) for MRT Jakarta through L&T's long-term Japanese partner, Sojitz Corporation. This Contract marks the first EPC Railway Systems Order for L&T in the ASEAN region. According to the company's project classification, the value of the order ranges between Rs 1,000 crore to Rs 2,500 crore.
Larsen and Toubro (L&T) on Tuesday said it has bagged a project to set up a solar power plant in Dubai. The order has been bagged by the renewable engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) arm of L&T's power transmission and distribution business. The project involves setting up a "solar photovoltaic plant in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates," the company said in a filing to BSE. "We are committed to bringing in our innovative renewable energy solutions and project management expertise to speed up energy transition in the region which is pursuing economic development combined with sustainable practices," T Madhava Das, Whole-Time Director and Senior Executive Vice President (Utilities), L&T said. L&T is a USD 23 billion Indian multinational engaged in EPC projects, hi-tech manufacturing and services.
Larsen & Toubro (L&T) on Wednesday said its construction arm has bagged a contract to establish various systems related to green energy generation and utilities for an ultra-luxury tourism destination in Saudi Arabia. "The construction arm of Larsen & Toubro has been chosen as the turnkey engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor....for the AMAALA project in the Red Sea region, Saudi Arabia," the company said in a filing to BSE. Larsen & Toubro (L&T) on Monday said it has bagged significant contracts to build data centres of capacities totalling 10.8 MW at Mumbai and Navi Mumbai. The company will design, build and would be involved in supply work, among others for the data centres and allied buildings including fit-outs. The orders are bagged by the buildings and factories business of L&T Construction, a subsidiary of L&T. The company classifies contracts worth Rs 1,000-2,500 crore as significant orders. Further, the company has secured an order for the engineering, procurement and construction of the 'Statue of Oneness' The Statue of Adi Shankaracharya at Omkareshwar in Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh from Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation Ltd. The 108-feet high bronze statue is scheduled to be completed in 15 months.
L&T on Thursday said its construction arm has won a large contract for the bullet train project. L&T Construction has bagged the project from National High-Speed Rail Corporation Ltd (NHSRCL). "The railways business of L&T Construction has secured acontract from NHSRCL to construct 116 route km of High-Speed ballastless track works for Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (MAHSR) project, popularly referred to as the bullet train project," the company said in a statement. L&T Construction has won a significant order from Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) to design and construct the underground metro project of Phase-IV of Delhi MRTS. L&T Construction is the construction arm of infrastructure major Larsen & Toubro (L&T). "The heavy civil infrastructure business vertical of L&T Construction has won a significant order from...DMRC, to design and construct the Underground Metro Project of Phase-IV of Delhi MRTS," L&T said in a statement on Wednesday. According to the company, the value of significant order falls in the range of Rs 1,000-2,500 crore. The major scope of work for the project includes design and construction of a 5-km twin tunnel, cut and cover tunnel box, underground ramp and four underground stations namely Chhatarpur, Chhatarpur Mandir, IGNOU and Neb Sarai with associated works of Aerocity to Tughlaqabad corridor.
