Plastic promotional toys and confectionery manufacturer Candytoy Corporate has secured an investment of Rs 110 crore in a funding round. This Series A round of funding was led by a large pool of domestic investors, high networth individuals (HNIs), angel investors and institutional investors, according to a statement issued by the Indore-based candy toy maker. This new round of funding will enable Candytoy Corporate (CTC) to expand its manufacturing capabilities and invest in nurturing top talent nationwide to support its fast-paced growth, it added. "We are getting into a very exciting phase. This series A deal of Rs 110.5 crore with 13 per cent liquidation will not only help propel our growth but also invest in the incredible talent that drives our success to take on the new business orders received from across the globe," CTC Director Gaurav Mirchandani said. German sports brand Puma on Wednesday affirmed its association with India's star batter Virat Kohli. Rejecting the reports that Kohli is considering ending its 8-year-old deal as its brand ambassador, Puma India Managing Director Karthik Balagopalan said the association still continues. "PUMA's relationship with Virat Kohli is long-standing and continues," Balagopalan said. There were reports that the ace cricketer may end its association with Puma and may join Agilitas Sports as its brand ambassador. Agilitas Sports is an entrepreneurial venture started by Puma India's former Managing Director Abhishek Ganguly. Puma had signed Kohli as its brand ambassador in 2017, a deal considered to be around Rs 110 crore.
Agilitas Sports, co-founded by former Puma India & South East Asia MD Abhishek Ganguly, on Thursday announced it will acquire Mochiko Shoes for an undisclosed amount. Agilitas Sports is a sportswear and Athleisure solutions platform while Mochiko is the country's largest sports footwear manufacturer. Mochiko's clientele includes leading international brands such as Adidas, Puma, New Balance, Skechers, Reebok, Asics, Crocs, Decathlon, Clarks and US Polo and is their manufacturing partner. Puma India, part of the global sportswear giant, has signed 15 Olympic-bound Indian athletes and three para athletes for the upcoming national and international tournaments.
