Infosys to set up 20-acre campus in Vizag, capacity for 7,000 staff

IT services major Infosys has announced plans to set up a permanent, 20-acre campus in Visakhapatnam, signalling confidence in the region's economic and technological potential. The facility is designed to accommodate 7,000 professionals. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday laid the foundation for USD 15 billion Google Artificial Intelligence data centre near Visakhapatnam. The 1 GW capacity data centre will emerge as a major step in India's digital infrastructure growth. It is expected to be one of the largest AI data centres in the country and will provide advanced AI cloud infrastructure and large-scale data storage capabilities, an official release earlier said. Indian Navy vigilant in safeguarding maritime interests: President Murmu

President Droupadi Murmu on Wednesday said that the Indian Navy is vigilant in safeguarding country's maritime interests and is contributing to stability across wider maritime commerce. Presiding over the International Fleet Review (IFR) off Vizag coast abroad an Indian Naval warship in the Bay of Bengal, the President said the Indian Navy is deployed in the region to serve as a credible instrument of deterrence and defence against threats and challenges arising in the sea. "Indian Navy is vigilant in safeguarding India's maritime interests and is contributing to stability across wider maritime commerce," Murmu said. Further, she noted that the Indian Navy plays a vital role in promoting goodwill and building bridges of trust, confidence and friendship with navies around the globe. HPCL commissions residue upgradation unit at Vizag refinery, boosts margins

Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) has commissioned a residue upgradation facility (RUF) at its Visakhapatnam refinery, significantly enhancing the plant's deep-conversion capability, distillate output and profitability, the company said on Monday. The 3.55 million tonnes-per-year facility includes India's first residue hydrocracking unit and the world's first LC-Max unit, capable of converting about 93 per cent of low-value bottom-of-the-barrel oils into high-value petroleum products. The project marks a major step in upgrading India's refining complexity and reducing dependence on imported fuels. Air India Express flight to Visakhapatnam grounded after technical snag

A Visakhapatnam-bound Air India Express flight was cancelled at the Gannavaram Airport on December 18 night due to a technical snag detected before take-off, an airport official said. Andhra govt pushes for timely completion of Rs 12K cr power grid projects
