The US-based technology company, Citrix, is planning to strengthen its presence in the country through its start-up programmes. The technology company is also planning to enhance its academic programmes in the county to build a strong industry-academia association in the country. The company's move is to increase its growth rate in the country which is the largest R&D centre of the company.
“The start-up scene in India is emerging and we want to partner many of this innovative companies,” said Rakesh Singh, VP and GM, Citrix India.
The company offers a start-up programme called Citrix startup accelerator through which the company provides seed funding for companies in the enterprise and infrastructure space. The programme which started in the US is now available for companies in India. “We have a strong relationship with startups in India. Some of the companies we acquired recently have a strong presence in India,” he added.
Some of the companies which Citrix acquired recently include VMLogix, Grexit, Apere Engineering that have a significant presence in cities like Hyderabad and Bangalore. The company also said it will work with premier academic institutions like IIT and NIT to develop syllabus as part of strengthening industry-academia partnership.
