Amid a fresh Aadhaar row after technology news portal ZDNet alleged that sensitive user information, including bank details, had been exposed to risk, Union Minister Alphons Kannanthanam took on those questioning the government's Aadhaar programme. The minister claimed people were willing to "get naked before the white man" to procure an American visa but cried "privacy" when their basic details had to be shared with their own government. Not amused by Alphons' remarks, BJP leader Subramanian Swamy reportedly asked the Union minister to retract his statement. "It's a foolish statement," Swamy reportedly said.
