Economic Survey 2019: Private investment in agriculture is falling

Private investment in agriculture has seen a decline in the last few years while the public sector’s role is growing, pointing towards a deeper cause for concern in the farming sector. A key reason for waning private sector interest in the sector could be excessive regulations and control in the sector, something the government needs to review seriously moving forward  .
