Hafed has surpassed its wheat procurement target of 35 per cent by procuring 19.30 lakh metric tonne of wheat which accounts for 37 per cent of the total of 59.19 lakh metric tonne of wheat procured by the government agencies in the state during rabi-2008.

		</script> </DIV><p class='TableClas'>A spokesperson of Hafed said here today that out of total procurement of 19.30 lakh metric tonne of wheat, 4.84 lakh metric tonne of wheat was delivered to FCI direct from the mandis upto May 28, 2008 and remaining wheat stocks had been stored in the godowns/open plinth, which had been fully covered with the polythene covers.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <BR>He said that keeping in view the quantum of procurement of wheat, fresh orders of 3000 polythene covers was placed during the year so as to cover properly whole wheat stocks stored in open on plinths. <BR><BR>Hafed had got sufficient stock of fumigants to save the wheat stock from the incidence of pests, he said. </P></p></table>
