WHAT IS THE BEST THING ABOUT THIS BUDGET?
There is not one thing which actually stands out. It is a decent Budget which will find its usual share of detractors and certain sections will praise it.
WHAT IS THE WORST THING ABOUT THIS BUDGET?
In this Budget, the increase in the service tax will have an impact on the life of the common man. Other things like tickets for air travel becoming more costly are not too good for the ever-expanding middle class of the country. The fact that there hasn’t been anything proposed to boost sports infrastructure in India is also a dampener.
DO YOU THINK THIS BUDGET WILL REVIVE THE ECONOMY? OR DOES IT LACK BOLDNESS?
Yes, it lacks boldness, but I guess these are uncertain times for the economy, not only in India but globally as well. It will take some time for the economy to revive, and we can hope this Budget addresses these concerns in the long run.
IF YOU WERE THE FINANCE MINISTER, WHAT WOULD YOU HAVE DONE WITH THE BUDGET?
I don’t think I could do any better because I am happy being who I am!
