Former Transport Minister Minister Madan Mitra has been going through a rough patch for a while. In 2014, Mitra was arrested by the CBI in connection with the Saradha chit fund scam but he is still contestig from behind bars.

The latest sting operation by Narada news portal that hit television screens mid-March shows him taking cash for extending favours to a fictitious company.

Mitra who is contesting from the Kamahati constituency is carrying quite a baggage and could lose this election, even though he won the 2011 elections by a margin of 34,000 votes.
