Netaji's kin Chandra Kumar Bose rides high on family legacy

It's a battle within a battle as Bose's opponent Amit Mitra is also his cousin

Chandra Kumar Bose Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s grandnephew is set to take on Mamata Banerjee and Congress’ Deepa Dasmunsi through this lineage. In 2014, BJP had leads in this constituency.

After studying economics from Hendrix College London in 1982, Chandra Kumar Bose had joined Tata Management Training Centre in Jamshedpur, followed by working as a market executive in Kolkata.Although, he contesting from BJP seat, he is known for propagating secularism.

He has brought in an enigmatic touch to this election. Bengalis have an insatiable curiosity about Netaji and Bose is working it up. He has taken it upon himself to revive the ideology of the freedom fighter. Much before he was photographed with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, ostensibly for a meeting to seek declassification of Netaji files, Bose had been exploring is options with the BJP. 

 

Bose has no experience in politics and is making foray as the candidate from the Bhawanipur assembly constituency where is opponent is the mighty Mamata Banerjee. Bose studied economics at Hendon College, London and then joined the Tata Management Training Centre in Jamshedpur. He later returned to Kolkata as a marketing executive with Tata Steel and was the sales manager for it for 18 years. Bose will most certainly lose but is expected to go down fighting.

However, TMC leaders are not upbeat about it as its MP Sugata Bose also bear roots to Netaji’s clan.
