Sensex in red; Jaiprakash soars 13%

The Sensex after a marginally (24 points) positive start at 9,679, had touched a high of 9,746 in early trades, The index, therefter, slipped to a low of 9,560. The index is now down 47 points at 9,608.

Jaiprakash Associates has zoomed 12.5% to Rs 84. Stelite has soared 6% to Rs 289.

Reliance Communications has surged nearly 5% to Rs 239. ICICI Bank has rallied 3.3% to Rs 413, and ACC has gained nearly 3% at Rs 490.

Tata Steel has moved up nearly 2% to Rs 222, and Tata Motors has added 1.5% to Rs 166.

Satyam has slumped 6.5% to Rs 221. Wipro has plunged 4% to Rs 251, and TCS has shed 3% to Rs 525.

 

NTPC and HDFC have dropped nearly 2.5% each to Rs 165 and Rs 1,586, respectively.

Hindustan Unilever and BHEL have slipped around 2% each to Rs 240 and Rs 1,386, respectively.

Infosys had declined 1.7% to Rs 1,154. ONGC, Grasim and Bharti Airtel are down around 1.5% each at Rs 667, Rs 1,082 and Rs 725, respectively.
