Sensex flat in morning trades; RCom, Jaiprakash shine

The Sensex opened marginally (24 points) higher at 9,679, slipped to a low of 9,613, and then touched a high of 9,746. The index is now up five points at 9,660.

Reliance Communications and Jaiprakash Associates have zoomed around 7% each to Rs 243 and Rs 80, respectively.

Sterlite has surged 4% to Rs 283. ICICI Bank has rallied 2.5% to Rs 410.

Hindalco has gained 2% at Rs 55. SBI has added 1.3% to Rs 1,205.

TCS has plunged over 3% to Rs 525. Wipro and Satyam have shed 2.7% each at Rs 255 and Rs 230, respectively.

Hindustan Unilever and Bharti Airtel have slipped over 2% each to Rs 239 and Rs 719, respectively. NTPC has dropped nearly 2% to Rs 166.

 

BHEL has declined 1.7% to Rs 1,389. Maruti and Infosys are down 1.3% each at Rs 509 and Rs 1,158, respectively.
