MiG-21 crashes in Rajasthan's Barmer District, pilot fatally injured

The Indian Air Force (IAF) on Monday confirmed that one of its MiG-21 aircraft had crashed at the Uttarlai airbase in Rajasthan's Barmer District.

In a statement issued here, the IAF said that the crash occured at around 9.30 a.m. this morning.
It further said that the aircraft was airborne from Uttarlai on a routine flying training sortie.
The statement confirmed that the pilot has sustained fatal injuries, but added that there is no reported damage to any civil life or property.
The IAF said that a court of inquiry has been ordered to investigate the accident.
