Thorpe released from hospital following treatment for shoulder injury 'complications'

Australian swimming legend Ian Thorpe has reportedly been released from hospital where he has been undergoing treatment in the past month for serious infections while battling a shoulder injury.

Thorpe had to spend time in the intensive care unit as he got infected with serious bugs' infections from staying in the hospital over a period of time.

According to News.com, his manager James Erskine said that the Olympian has left the hospital as the infections may have cleared up, adding that he is unlikely to revisit a rehabilitation program.

Thorpe, since retiring from swimming in 2013, has experienced several health aggravations. After consuming medications and antidepressants, he was found in a disoriented state in Sydney, trying to enter a parked van.
