Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Sunday said that the Congress and the NCP leaders should compare development works done during their tenure with development works done during his four years long regime.

Speaking at the first joint poll rally of Shiv-Sena and the BJP for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Fadnavis said: "I challenge Congress-Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) to bring a list of their works done in 15 years of their governance and our works done in four and a half years. Let us discuss on the development and we have surely done more than what they did in 15 years."

CM Fadnavis also referred to MNS chief Raj Thackeray as "Parrot of Baramati" and mocked his past statements. "His clothes were torn in assembly elections and BMC elections and only a loin cloth was left, which was also snatched by Uddhav ji."

He also took a jibe at the grand alliance and said, "They claim that they have gathered 56 parties in their alliance. I just want to ask them to have at least 56 registered parties with them. Whoever meets them they take them in their alliance."

On February 18, the BJP and its NDA ally Shiv Sena had announced the seat-sharing deal in the state. According to the agreement, the BJP will fight on 25 seats and Shiv Sena on 23 seats.

In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP won 23 seats while the Shiv Sena garnered 18 seats. The NCP and Congress won just four and two seats, respectively.

Maharashtra will go to polls in the first four phases, beginning April 11. Results will be announced on May 23.
