Women politicians from six nations discuss gender issues in Delhi

Leading women politicians from Canada, India, Afghanistan, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka are coming together in New Delhi on February 1 and 2, 2016, to discuss gender equality and the importance of women's political and economic participation in their society.

The India program is hosted by Women's Feature Service, in partnership with the High Commission of Canada.

Leaders participating in this dialogue are:

1. Ms. Meenakshi Lekhi, Member of Parliament, India (host country)

2. Ms. Chandrani Bandara Jayasinghe, Minister of Women and Child Affairs, Sri Lanka

3. Ms. Naheed Farid, Member of Parliament, Afghanistan

4. Ms. Chhaya Sharma (Pant), Member of Parliament, Nepal

5. Ms. Maiza Hameed, Member of Parliament, Pakistan

 

Kathleen Wynne, Premier of the Canadian province of Ontario, will join the program on February 1 as a special guest.
