Auto shares under pressure

Auto stocks were trading in the negative zone, with the S&P BSE Auto index falling 250.03 points or 1.4% at 17560.14 at 13:47 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Auto index, Tata Motors Ltd (down 3.04%), Cummins India Ltd (down 2.61%),Bosch Ltd (down 2.26%),Balkrishna Industries Ltd (down 2.25%),Exide Industries Ltd (down 2.24%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd (down 2.21%), Eicher Motors Ltd (down 2.05%), TVS Motor Company Ltd (down 1.42%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (down 1.28%), and Hero MotoCorp Ltd (down 0.98%).

On the other hand, Motherson Sumi Systems Ltd (up 1.22%), MRF Ltd (up 0.5%), and Ashok Leyland Ltd (up 0.33%) moved up.

 

At 13:47 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 208.9 or 0.51% at 40570.69.

The Nifty 50 index was down 59.95 points or 0.5% at 11958.45.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 80.93 points or 0.6% at 13374.3.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 46.41 points or 0.98% at 4669.1.

On BSE,760 shares were trading in green, 1535 were trading in red and 162 were unchanged.
