Power shares fall

Power stocks were trading in the negative zone, with the S&P BSE Power index falling 18.89 points or 1% at 1867.93 at 13:47 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Power index, Reliance Infrastructure Ltd (down 4.81%), Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (down 4.51%),Tata Power Company Ltd (down 3.67%),JSW Energy Ltd (down 3%),Adani Transmission Ltd (down 2.24%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Torrent Power Ltd (down 1.93%), Adani Power Ltd (down 1.81%), NTPC Ltd (down 0.92%), Siemens Ltd (down 0.88%), and Kalpataru Power Transmission Ltd (down 0.32%).

On the other hand, Thermax Ltd (up 0.29%), ABB India Ltd (up 0.1%), and Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (up 0.08%) moved up.

 

At 13:47 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 208.9 or 0.51% at 40570.69.

The Nifty 50 index was down 59.95 points or 0.5% at 11958.45.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 80.93 points or 0.6% at 13374.3.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 46.41 points or 0.98% at 4669.1.

On BSE,760 shares were trading in green, 1535 were trading in red and 162 were unchanged.
