Auto stocks soar
Auto stocks were trading in green, with the S&P BSE Auto index increasing 471 points or 2.59% at 18634.32 at 09:47 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Auto index, Tata Motors Ltd (up 13.65%), Motherson Sumi Systems Ltd (up 7.86%),Ashok Leyland Ltd (up 3.03%),Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd (up 2.7%),Eicher Motors Ltd (up 2.23%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Bosch Ltd (up 1.79%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (up 1.63%), TVS Motor Company Ltd (up 1.46%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd (up 0.87%), and MRF Ltd (up 0.87%).
On the other hand, Cummins India Ltd (down 1.49%), turned lower.
At 09:47 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 121.7 or 0.31% at 39371.9.
The Nifty 50 index was up 24.5 points or 0.21% at 11651.65.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 16.51 points or 0.12% at 13326.81.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 7.67 points or 0.17% at 4555.49.
On BSE,767 shares were trading in green, 640 were trading in red and 85 were unchanged.
