Capital Goods shares spurt

Capital Goods stocks were trading in the positive zone, with the S&P BSE Capital Goods index rising 375.59 points or 2.2% at 17442.16 at 09:48 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Capital Goods index, Larsen & Toubro Ltd (up 3.35%), GMR Infrastructure Ltd (up 2.61%),NBCC (India) Ltd (up 2.1%),Lakshmi Machine Works Ltd (up 1.73%),Havells India Ltd (up 1.64%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were V-Guard Industries Ltd (up 1.36%), Kalpataru Power Transmission Ltd (up 1.15%), SKF India Ltd (up 1.12%), Bharat Electronics Ltd (up 1.04%), and Schaeffler India Ltd (up 0.83%).

On the other hand, AIA Engineering Ltd (down 0.69%), Graphite India Ltd (down 0.28%), and Siemens Ltd (down 0.17%) moved lower.

 

At 09:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 252.79 or 0.61% at 41368.17.

The Nifty 50 index was up 57.25 points or 0.47% at 12164.15.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 67.22 points or 0.46% at 14700.38.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 30.35 points or 0.61% at 5035.06.

On BSE,937 shares were trading in green, 446 were trading in red and 56 were unchanged.
