The Hong Kong stock market closed higher for a third day in a row on Monday, 11 December 2017, reversing earlier gains hurt by a wave of profit-taking as investors turned cautious ahead of this week's US Federal Reserve policy meeting. The Fed is widely expected to raise interest rates in its two-day policy meeting ending on Wednesday. Investors are now looking for clues on its policy plans for next year. The Hang Seng Index closed down 0.6%, or 171.41 points, at 28,793.88. The Hang Seng China Enterprises index, known as the H-share index, shed 1% to 11,312.57. Turnover decreased to HK$104.8 billion from HK$109.2 billion on Monday. Among the 51 blue chips, 17 stocks rose and 34 fell.
