Nifty December 2016 futures at small premium

Turnover on NSE's F&O segment drops

The Nifty December 2016 futures traded at 8,077.45, a premium of 16.15 points compared with the Nifty's closing of 8,061.30 in the cash market. The January 2017 futures on the Nifty 50 index traded at 8,112.20, a premium of 50.90 points compared with the Nifty's closing in the cash market. Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures & options (F&O) segment dropped to Rs 2.92 lakh crore from Rs 3.46 lakh crore registered yesterday, 20 December 2016.

In the cash market, the Nifty fell 21.10 points or 0.26% to settle at 8,061.30, its lowest closing level since 24 November 2016.

 

Vedanta, Bharat Financial Inclusion, State Bank of India (SBI), Yes Bank and CEAT were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE. Vedanta December 2016 futures traded at 226.40, at a premium over spot closing of 225.60. Bharat Financial Inclusion December 2016 futures traded at 579.60, at a premium over spot closing of 577.65. SBI December 2016 futures traded at 255.45, at a premium over spot closing of 254.60.

Yes Bank December 2016 futures traded at 1140.75, at a premium over spot closing of 1138.20. CEAT December 2016 futures traded at 1152, at a premium compared with spot closing of 1149.60.

The December 2016 F&O contracts are set to expire on 29 December 2016.
