Nifty January 2017 futures at premium

Turnover on NSE's F&O segment declines

The Nifty December 2016 futures traded at 8,127.15, a premium of 22.80 points compared with the Nifty's closing of 8,104.35 in the cash market. The January 2017 futures on the Nifty 50 index traded at 8,163.90, a premium of 59.55 points compared with the Nifty's closing in the cash market. Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures & options (F&O) segment fell to Rs 2.08 lakh crore from Rs 2.25 lakh crore registered on Friday, 16 December 2016.

In the cash market, the Nifty 50 index fell 35.10 points or 0.43% to settle at 8,104.35, its lowest closing level since 7 December 2016.

 

Vedanta, Tata Motors, State Bank of India (SBI), Reliance Infrastructure and Bharat Financial Inclusion were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE. Vedanta December 2016 futures traded at 228, near spot closing of 227.70. Tata Motors December 2016 futures traded at 472.85, at a premium over spot closing of 471.05. SBI December 2016 futures traded at 262.35, at a premium over spot closing of 261.30.

Reliance Infrastructure December 2016 futures traded at 503.25, near spot closing of 503. Bharat Financial Inclusion December 2016 futures traded at 603.50, at a premium compared with spot closing of 602.

The December 2016 F&O contracts are set to expire on 29 December 2016.
