Quick Wrap: Nifty Energy Index declines 1.28%

Nifty Energy index ended down 1.28% at 14630.5 today. The index is up 2.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Reliance Infrastructure Ltd added 3.09%, GAIL (India) Ltd dropped 2.88% and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd fell 1.63%. The Nifty Energy index is up 2.00% over last one year compared to the 4.30% decline in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Pharma index added 1.07% and Nifty IT index gained 0.74% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has slid 0.09% to close at 10652.2 while the SENSEX has dropped 0.18% to close at 35592.5 today.
