The BJP on Monday released second list of 17 candidates for Madhya Pradesh with the party deciding to drop five sitting MLAs and to pitch one Memmber of Parliament to contest the November 28 Assembly polls.
As per the list, the party has denied ticket to sitting MLAs Pandit Singh Dhurwey from Bichhiya, Chandrashekhar Desmukh from Multai, Veer Singh Panwar from Kurwai, Jaswant Singh Hada from Shujalpur and Mukesh Pandya from Badnagar.
The BJP had fielded Morena MP and nephew of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Anoop Mishra from Bhitarwar Assembly constituency. He was defeated by Congress' Lakhan Singh Yadav in 2013 Assembly polls but was later elected to Elected 16th Lok Sabha in 2014.
With the second list, the BJP has as of now released the names of 193 candidates and has denied tickets to 39 sitting MLAs including three ministers. Earlier on Friday, the Bharatiya Janata Party had issued its first list of 176 candidates.
There are 230 seats in Madhya Pradesh, where the saffron party has been in power for three consecutive terms.
