Indian technician crushed to death at Kuwait airport

An Indian technician working with died after he was run over by an empty aircraft while it was being towed away at the company's base airport.

Anand Ramachandran, a native of Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, was overseeing the towing operation when he was crushed under the wheels of the on Monday, reported citing the airline's tweet.

He was towing the aircraft when the tow bar broke, killing him on the spot. No crew members or passengers were on board the aircraft when the incident happened.

Towing means moving of large aircraft from the runway to the terminal or hangar.

Expressing regret at the incident, said an investigation has been launched into the matter.

Ramachandran previously worked with Kingfisher and joined in 2008. He is survived by his wife and daughter.
