Business Standard New Delhi
At the recently held Road Safety Forum 2016, Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways and Shipping Nitin Gadkari promised the present system of driver licensing would soon be replaced by a transparent and efficient computerised licensing system. He said every third driver in the country holds a fake licence and bad drivers are responsible for most of the 150,000 deaths on Indian roads every year.
