Five persons, including a minor, were killed and three others injured when a vehicle in which they were travelling hit a dumper at Tarsod bifurcation in the district, police said today.
The incident occurred last evening on the Bhusawal-Jalgaon road when the vehicle hit the dumper from the rear side, Nasirabad police station in-charge Sarthak Nehate said.
The deceased have been identified as Nasreen bee Farid Khatik, Shaikh Fareed shaikh Babu (48), Tarannum Javed Khatik (25), Almira Javed Khatik (4) and Abdul Saeed Abdul Kareem (50).
The injured have been admitted to private hospital, the officer said.
Police said a case has been registered in this regard and investigations are underway.
