Five Egyptian female university students, belonging to banned Muslim Brotherhood group, were today sentenced to five years in prison for inciting violence.
They were students of Al-Azhar University and were also charged for protesting without an official permission.
The five students, members of the banned MB, have been sentenced to a five-year prison term and ordered a bail amount of 100,000 Egyptian pounds each.
Since Islamist ex-president Morsi's ouster last year, the Egyptian government has been cracking down on the Muslim Brotherhood and its supporters.
Morsi himself is currently in prison over charges of killing peaceful protesters, espionage, escaping from prison during the January 25 Revolution in 2011 and insulting the judiciary.
He was also charged with spying and handing documents of national security importance to Qatari intelligence through the Qatar-based Al-Jazeera news channel.
He has not been sentenced in any case so far.
