Ahamed, Mullapally file papers in Kerala

Union ministers Mullapally Ramachandran (Cong-Vatakara) and E Ahamed (IUML-Malappuram) were among the candidates who filed nominations today for the April 10 Lok Sabha polls in Kerala.

LDF candidates A Vijayaraghavan (CPI(M) Kozhikode), A N Shamseer (CPI(M)-Vatakara), A Sampath (CPI(M)-Attingal) and C N Jayadevan (CPI- Thrissur) also filed their papers.

Other contestants who entered the fray are E T Muhammad Basheer (IUML- Ponnani) and C K Padmanabhan (BJP-Kozhikode).

National president of IUML, E Ahamed is making the sixth consecutive bid from the party bastion in Malappuram.

Ramachandran is making his second consecutive bid from his home turf Vatakara.

Leading candidates who had already entered the fray in the previous days include Union ministers Shashi Tharoor (Thiruvananthapuram), K V Thomas (Ernakulam) and Kodikunnil Suresh (Mavelikkara).
