The fire caused by electrical leakage was put out, officials said adding it damaged about 500 metres of conveyor belt and destroyed goods.
This is the third fire mishap at the thermal station in the last two months. In July, two fire incidents were reported at the plant, which caused damage to the conveyor belt system.
Officials said power generation work would resume soon.
