The Andhra Pradesh Government is seeking the help of Indian embassies in Chile and Argentina to trace the whereabouts of ace climber Malli Mastan Babu who has gone missing from Andes Mountains in South America.
The government has also demanded support of the External Affairs ministry, said IT and NRI Affairs Minister P Raghunath Reddy.
"We have sent wireless messages to the Indian embassies at Chili and Argentina seeking their support to trace Mastan Babu," the minister said in a statement today.

As per reports, Babu (40), who hails from Nellore in Andhra Pradesh, was on a solo expedition to climb the mountain range along the Argentina-Chile border from the base camp of Cerro Tres Cruces.
The expedition began on March 24 and he was scheduled to return to the base camp on March 25, but he has not yet done so. All attempts to communicate with him have been futile.
Babu was set to return to India on March 28.
