Sub-Inspector of Sidgora police station here was arrested by Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) while accepting bribe from a person from neighbouring Odisha.
ACB sleuths conducted a raid and arrested ASI Basudev Mehta who was accepting Rs 18,000 from Sheikh Ayub Hussain, a resident of Mayurbhanj district of Odisha, ACB officials said.

Mehta ordered Hussain through a relative who lives here, to bring his MUV saying it was used in crime.
Hussain appeared in the police station and told Mehta that he had sold the MUV to another person of Mayurbhanj in August last year.
Mehta did not pay heed to this and seized the papers of Hussain's car and demanded Rs 25,000 to return them, the officials said.
He also threatened Hussain to implicate him in a false case. Hussain then registered a complaint with the ACB.
ACB conducted a verification to the allegation of Hussain and found it to be true.
Meanwhile, Mehata agreed to release the papers for Rs 18000, the officials said adding Mehta was arrested while accepting the amount today.
In another incident in Palamau district, an employees of Pandwa block office was arrested while accepting a bribe of Rs 5000 from a beneficiary of Indira Awaz Yojana.
