A highly decomposed body of a 24-year-old youth was recovered from near Golmuri golf course under Golmuri police station here today, police said.
The victim identified as Amandeep Singh, a resident of Golmuri, had left home on June 4 on the pretext of attending a marriage of a friend but did not return, Officer-In-Charge of Golmuri police station, Md Nehal-uddin said.
A missing report had been lodged with the police station by the family members of the victim.
Passer-bys have the body and informed the police, he said adding that a police team rushed to the spot and recovered the highly decomposed body, which has been sent to M G M Hospital for post-mortem.
Police did not rule out the possibility of a murder and began investigation.
