Five members of an alleged gang of contract killers have been arrested here with police recovering a rifle and a countrymade pistol along with live bullets from the accused.
According to ACP (Model Town) MS Dhillon, the arrests were made in an attempted murder case in which the gang members had allegedly attacked an NRI here.
The accused, who all hail from either Hosiarpur or Ferozepur, have been identified as Pawan Kumar, Kulwinder Singh, Sandeep Singh, Harmandeep Singh and Mangal Singh, police said, adding that a search was on for the other gang members.
