Book, website on Siddhartha Mishra unveiled

Glowing tributes were paid to renowned sports journalist Siddhartha Mishra at a function here today marking his second death anniversary.

A book written in Odia 'Madhyanare Suryasta (Sunset At Midday)' on him by his father and eminent litterateur Ganeswar Mishra and a website profiling his life and work were unveiled on the occasion.

Hockey icon and Rajya Sabha member Dilip Tirkey graced the function as chief guest while noted cricket coach Kishore Mania and Editor (Odisha), The New Indian Express, Srimoy Kar were the guests of honour.

The Siddhartha Mishra Memorial Trust (SMMT) and the Odisha Sports Journalists Association (OSJA) organized the 'smruti sabha'. While senior sports journalist Sambit Mohapatra spoke on the occasion, Tirkey described Siddhartha as a "true lover of sports".
 

He said, "During my several interactions with him, I found that he really respected sportspersons. Young journalists, especially those pursuing sports journalism as a career, can learn a lot from him.
