The Odisha government has issued notices to five MPs to vacate the government quarters in their possession, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik informed the Assembly here today.
"Notices have been issued to the MPs for vacation of government quarters," Patnaik said replying a written question by BJD MLA Debashis Nayak in the House.
Stating that there was no provision of providing government accommodation to the MPs in the state capital, Patnaik said they should vacate the quarters after getting elected to either Lok Sabha or Rajya Sabha.
The MPs who have been issued notices are Sarojini Hembram (Rajya Sabha), A U Singhdeo (RS), Kalpataru Das (RS), Bhupinder Singh (RS) and Jhina Hikaka (Lok Sabha).
