Red chilli and jeera prices rose by Rs 200 per quintal in the national capital today on fall in supplies from producing belts against fresh buying by retailers and stockists.
Firming trend in futures market also supported the uptrend.
Red chilli prices rose by Rs 200 to settle at Rs 8,200-13,200 per quintal.

Jeera (common and best quality) also moved higher by Rs 200 each to conclude at Rs 11,000-11,200 and Rs 14,200-14,700 per quintal.
Traders said buying support from retailers and stockists against fall in supplies from producing belts mainly pushed up chilli and jeera prices.
Following are today's quotations per quintal:
Ajwain (per kg) 14,500-20,000, black pepper (per kg) 760-940, betel-nut (kg) 285-335, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,400-1,420 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,510-1,625.
Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 750-800, cardamom (colour robin) 660-670, cardamom bold 680-700, cardamom extra (bold) 870-890 and cloves 725-860.
