Red chilli and jeera prices went up by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today on fall in supplies from producing belts against increased buying by retailers and stockists.
Firming trend in futures market also supported the uptrend.
Red chilli prices rose by Rs 100 to settle at Rs 8,300-13,300 per quintal.

Jeera common and best quality also went higher by Rs 100 each to settle at Rs 10,800-11,100 and Rs 14,300-14,500 per quintal.
Traders said buying support from retailers and stockists against fall in supplies from producing belts pushed up chilli and jeera prices in the wholesale kirana market here.
Following are today's quotations per quintal:
Ajwain (per kg) 15,500-20,000, black pepper (per kg) 750-925, betel-nut (kg) 285-335, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,420-1,450 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,500-1,625.
Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 750-800, cardamom (colour robin) 650-670, cardamom bold 680-720, cardamom extra (bold) 880-900 and cloves 725-870.
